How it Works
At 100 Women Who Care Golden Triangle, we believe in the power of collective giving. Each member contributes $100, which is pooled together to support local non-profits. During our quarterly meetings, members learn about three (3) non-profits nominated by members and vote to choose which 501(c)3 charity receives the donations, ensuring that every dollar goes directly to the chosen organization. This streamlined process allows us to maximize our impact in northeast Lake County, fostering a spirit of community and philanthropy. By participating, you support vital local services and connect with like-minded women who share your passion for giving back.
We encourage all members to engage actively in the nomination and voting process, as it empowers us to choose causes that resonate with our values and community needs. Together, we can create lasting change and support those who are making a difference in our area.

FAQ’s
Which non-profit organizations are eligible for consideration by the group?
Non-profit organizations must:
• Be nominated by a current member.
• Be based in Lake County, Florida, and serve communities in the Golden Triangle (northeast Lake).
• Be a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization eligible to provide tax receipts for donations.
• Agree not to use, give or sell the contact information of our members for additional solicitation by them or other organizations.
• Not be affiliated with a national or international non-profit organization unless they can commit to designating 100% of our donation to the northeast Lake County area. Our focus is on local non-profit organizations that impact our local community.
How are charitable organizations invited to speak at a meeting?
Our members nominate non-profit organizations every quarter and three (3) are selected by our steering committee. Charities are invited in the following order: Non-profits that have not been invited to a previous meeting will be invited first, followed by re-nominations. Members may re-nominate a non-profit after one year. If there are not three (3) new and re-nominated non-profits, the steering committee will select previously invited charities through a random drawing of those that did not receive the award and were not re-nominated.
Members may nominate a non-profit online, through Grapevine, or by completing the Non-Profit Nomination form (on Grapevine )and emailing it in.
How is the organization that receives the group donation chosen?
After the three invited non-profits give their presentations, each member will cast a ballot for the charity she thinks should take home our collective donations. The charity with the greatest number of votes will receive the funds.
How do I make a donation to the chosen organization?
Once the charity with the greatest number of votes is announced, all members make their $100 donation directly to the chosen non-profit. Of course, members are welcome to donate to the other two charities as well.
Donations may be made online through Grapevine (preferred), by check, or with cash. Members may choose to set up a quarterly donation via credit card on Grapevine. Absent members may pay on online or send a check with another member (“pay to” left blank).
Do you have a Matching Contribution option?
Yes! We have been invited to apply for matching funds for each quarterly donation. Once the non-profit is approved by the foundation matching our donation, the funds are sent directly to the charity.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, as only registered 501(c)3 non-profit organizations will be sponsored by the group. Grapevine will send a receipt of your donation directly to you for your accounting and tax purposes.
How long do meetings last?
Meetings are held four (4) times a year and last just one hour. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the meeting for social time, and we invite all members and friends to meet afterwards at a local restaurant for dinner and refreshments.
Can I bring a friend to a meeting?
Absolutely! We are always seeking women who are interested in giving back to our community! However, in order to vote they will need to become a member.
Do any of my donated funds go toward administrative costs for 100 Women Who Care Golden Triangle?
No! 100% of the money raised goes directly to the selected organizations. 100 Women Who Care Golden Triangle is organized and operated entirely by volunteers, and has no checking account.
